I have noticed that many bloggers talk about their animals and often have pictures of their beloved pets on their blogs.

I decided I should introduce you all to my pets, because after all they are my best friends forever. I have two wonderful monkeys. They are great to have around the house. I have taught them to scratch my back and get me beer. I named the young one Lucky because he brings me luck.



The other one is called Kenny Rogers, because he likes to drink and has a beard.



















I also have a pet lizard named George Bush. My Grandfather found him in the backyard one day. He got his unusual name after I did some d.n.a. testing and discovered the lizard's D.N.A matched the President of the United States almost exactly (92% the same!)













My other pets are an alien grasshopper I call Bruce Lee because when it talks to me it's lips are not in synch with what he is saying.


















I have a snake with one eye that lives in my trousers called don't be ridiculous, because this whole post is ridiculous.


Oh yeah I also have a pet fly that is so hard to get a leash around to take for walks that I named him stupid fly, but after hearing him play some funky drums I changed his name to super-fly

CELLAR DOOR

A cellar door is a door that allows entrance to, or exit from, a cellar. A widely repeated claim holds that the phrase cellar-door is the most beautiful in the English language.

Cellar door is a combination of words in the English language once characterized by J. R. R. Tolkien to have an especially beautiful sound. In his 1955 essay "English and Welsh", commenting on his affection towards the Welsh language, Tolkien wrote:

"Most English-speaking people...will admit that cellar door is 'beautiful', especially if dissociated from its sense (and from its spelling). More beautiful than, say, sky, and far more beautiful than beautiful. Well then, in Welsh for me cellar doors are extraordinarily frequent, and moving to the higher dimension, the words in which there is pleasure in the contemplation of the association of form and sense are abundant."

Tolkien also once used the phrase to illustrate a point about his writing process during an interview:

"Supposing you say some quite ordinary words to me - 'cellar door', say. From that, I might think of a name, 'Selador', and from that a character, a situation begins to grow."

Tolkien's discourse is the most likely origin of this concept and the only documented one.

Have you ever chopped off a rooster's head, poured the blood into a glass of wine and drank it? Neither had Dali Cannon, until last night. It was in the East side ghetto, Chinatown. The night started off innocently enough. Dali was walking aimlessly down a glass sidewalk wearing silly slippers admiring the brick buildings, ornamental pagoda rooftops, and dragon lampposts. A red gold and green neon sign advertising bubble tea caught his attention.
"Mmmmm I would love a mango drink," he thought. "Perfect way to wash down the joint I just smoked." Dali entered the little shop, saw Mango Bubble Tea was #4 and so ordered a number 4.
The 70 or 80 year old Chinese man behind the counter spoke almost no English and was pointing at a bamboo dragon with a pair of chopsticks.
"Ahh, a dragon head, cool. Number four I want" Dali repeated, showing 4 fingers with his hand. The elderly clerk's eyes lit up with a sense of understanding. He unlocked a small door at the back of the shop and led Dali down a set of rickety stairs into a dark dank basement.
Cannon felt like he was on a movie set as the old chinese guy led him to a an old wood bench at a makeshift table. The room was a shooting gallery full of junkies. There were even a couple of guys on mattresses smoking Opium old school style.
"No number four, sorry," said a young man in Straw Sandals, "Try this one, China White almost as good." He handed Dali a white powder in aluminum foil. Dali Cannon had never seen heroin before, but took the foil and asked,
"I came here for a bubble tea. What is going on? Can I smoke this?"
The young Chinese drug dealer answered, "I thought that you ordered number 4 and wanted to chase the dragon. Didn't you?" Dali was very curious to try the drug and acted cool saying he was just joking, of course he wanted to "Chase the Dragon." He paid for the stuff and looked around. A toothless freak that looked like a ghost smiled at Dali and came to his table.
The ghostly addict helped Dali heat the foil, melt the powder into a light brown oil and inhale the smoke. Dali instantly felt the first hit. It was bitter as the grave he thought. He felt intensely ill, but did not seem to care as giant rolling waves of euphoria washed over his being. This continued for three to four hours as Dali Cannon and the toothless man became better acquainted.
The rest of the story is very blurry, but Dali remembers walking through a network of underground tunnels and ending up at a Chinese man's they called the "Incense Master". He also remembers being part of a ceremony where the Incense Master pricked his finger, but the craziest thing Dali could recall was the cutting off of a rooster's head and mixing the blood with some wine than drinking and drinking and Da Da Da Li Li Li Da Da Dat's all folks.

Today is April 20th otherwise known as 420 (International Pot Smokers Day).
I, personally do not need a special day to smoke, but I am glad so many people get together today to light up across the world and try to free the weed. Legalize it.

It is widely accepted that in the early 1970s, a group of teenagers at San Rafael High School in San Rafael, California used to meet every day after school at 4:20 p.m. to smoke marijuana at the Louis Pasteur statue. Many cannabis users continue to observe 4:20 as a time to smoke communally. By extension April 20 ("4/20" in U.S. dating shorthand) has evolved into a counterculture holiday, where people gather to celebrate and consume cannabis.

In April, 8th, 1956 in a Ulyanovsk (Russia). At present lives in Moscow.

As a young painter, Safronov moved to Italy and was inspired by the Surrealist magic of Salvador Dali.


He has painted leaders from Brazil to Azerbaijan.

"I'd do Osama bin Laden if he paid," Safronov said. "In that, you'd really have to capture his eyes."

The great achievement of this famous Russian painter is to mix the sacred with the profane, remaining of the edge of a sacrilege, to ally the ancient images of the past with the vivid ones of the present and, in its course of events, the life of its personalities and their often tragic fate.

Plusultra has been spending so much time on the couch lately doing nothing but smoking cigarettes and eating ice cream, that obesity is well set-in.
Fungus is growing on his body and rotting animal carcasses litter the floor. This truly is the laziest man alive.

The smell in the room is not easily described with mere words, but if I had to try I would say it was closest to an extra terrestrial Mushroom factory.

"What was that?" inquired Dali.

"What was what?" asked Kip

"That sound. It sounded like one hand clapping."

"I see. Well, I'm not sure what one hand clapping sounds like, but I didn't hear anything. By the way, I can tell you're drunk, but are you stoned too? I mean you're acting kind of strange. Even for you."

"I took some acid about half an hour ago. At first I thought I'd been ripped off, but now I'm not so sure," Dali confessed. "Does my cigarette smell purple?"

"I would definitely say you weren't ripped off, and no, your cigarette does not smell purple," informed Kip. "Come upstairs, I'll introduce you to a couple of my co-workers, but try not to behave too wildly O.K. They're nice guys but a little conservative if you know what I mean and what are you doing taking acid on a Tuesday night anyway?"

Little Superstar is an Internet phenomenon, consisting of a video of Thavakalai, an Indian actor, dancing to MC Miker G & DJ Sven's remix of the Madonna song Holiday, in a clip from a 1990 Tamil movie Adhisaya Piravi, featuring actor Rajnikanth. Various mashups have also appeared on the Internet using tracks from Cypress Hill, Michael Jackson and others.The clip is from India and is a product of the Chennai (Madras) movie industry, otherwise known as Kollywood. The little person in the clip is actually an adult actor, whose stage name is "Thavakalai" (Tamil for "frog"). Thavakalai made his acting debut in the 1983 Tamil movie "Mundhanai Mudichu" (director K. Bhagyaraj) and has appeared in several movies since then, usually playing the role of a child sidekick.

The language spoken in the clip is Tamil. The rough English equivalent would be:

These Giuseppe Arcimboldo Paintings are so surreal that they were created 400 years before the surrealists Even existed!

also spelled Arcimboldi; 1527 - July 11, 1593) was an Italian painter best known for creating imaginative portrait heads made entirely of such objects as fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish, and books -- that is, he painted representations of these objects on the canvas arranged in such a way that the whole collection of objects formed a recognizable likeness of the portrait subject.

In 1562 he became the court portraitist to Maximilian II at the Habsburg court in Vienna, and later, to his son Rudolf II, both of whom seem to have much liked Arcimboldo's extraordinary portraits.

He was also the court decorator, costume designer, and general art expert. His style of early pre-surrealist portraiture was much copied by his contemporaries, making it difficult at times to differentiate his work from that of imitators. Ironically, given the fame of the imaginary portraits, Arcimboldo's conventional work has been all but forgotten.

He died in Milan.

His works can be found in Vienna's Kunsthistorisches Museum and the Habsburg Schloss Amras in Innsbruck, the Louvre in Paris, as well as numerous museums in Sweden. In Italy, his work is in Cremona, Brescia, and the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. The Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, Connecticut, and at the Candie Museum, Guernsey, also contain pieces of his work.

Skip James - Crow Jane
Nehemiah Curtis "Skip" James (June 21, 1902 – October 3, 1969) was an American blues singer, guitarist, pianist and songwriter, born near Bentonia, Mississippi. In the '20s he sharecropped and made bootleg whiskey . He began playing guitar in open D-minor tuning and developed a three-finger picking technique that he would use to great effect on his recordings.The Great Depression struck just as James' recordings were hitting the market. Sales were poor as a result, and James gave up performing the blues to become the choir director in his father's church. Skip James himself was later ordained as a minister in both the Baptist and Methodist denominations, but his involvement in religious activities was sketchy.For the next thirty years, James recorded nothing and drifted in and out of music. He was virtually unknown to listeners until about 1960. Skip James was known to be an aloof and idiosyncratic artist. He seldom socialized with other bluesmen and fans. James epitomized the complicated personality typical of many bluesmen, living a hard and sometimes reckless life while holding austere religious beliefs. Though the lyrical content of some of his songs led to the characterization of James as a misogynist, he remained with his wife Lorenzo until his death.

Mississippi John Hurt -
Lonesome Valley Blues

Raised in Avalon, Mississippi, he learned to play guitar at age 9. He spent much of his youth playing old time music for friends and dances, earning a living as a farm hand into the 1920s. In 1923 he often partnered with the fiddle player Willie Narmour (Carroll County Blues) as a substitute for his regular partner Shell Smith. When Narmour got a chance to record for OKeh Records in reward for winning first place in a 1928 fiddle contest, Narmour recommended John Hurt to OKeh Records producer Tommy Rockwell. After auditioning "Monday Morning Blues" at his home, he took part in two recording sessions, in Memphis and New York City. The "Mississippi" tag was added by OKeh as a sales gimmick. After the commercial failure of the resulting disc and OKeh records going out of business during the depression, Hurt returned to Avalon and obscurity working as a sharecropper and playing local parties and dances.

In 1963, however, a folk musicologist named Tom Hoskins, inspired by the recordings, was able to locate John Hurt near Avalon, Mississippi. In fact, in an early recording, Hurt sang of "Avalon, my home town." With his guitar playing skills still intact, Hoskins encouraged Hurt to move to Washington, DC, and begin performing on a wider stage. Whereas his first releases had coincided with the Great Depression, his new career could hardly have been better timed. A stellar performance at the 1963 Newport Folk Festival saw his star rise amongst the new "folk revival" audience, and before his death in 1966 he played extensively in colleges, concert halls, coffee houses and even the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson , as well as recording three further albums for Vanguard Records. John Hurt's influence spans several music genres including blues, country, bluegrass, folk and contemporary rock and roll. A soft-spoken man, his nature was reflected in the work, which remained a mellow mix of country, blues and old time music to the end.

Son House - Levee Camp Blues

His date of birth is a matter of some debate. Son House himself alleged that he was middle aged during World War I, and, more specifically, that he was 79 in 1965, which would mean that he was born around 1886. However, all legal records place his birth on March 21, 1902.The young Son House was determined to become a Baptist preacher, and at age fifteen began his preaching career. Despite the church's firm stand against blues music and the sinful world which revolved around it, House nevertheless became attracted to it and taught himself guitar in his midtwenties.After killing a man, allegedly in self-defense, he spent time on Parchman Farm in 1928 and 1929.

House's innovative style featured very strong, repetitive rhythms, often played with the aid of a bottleneck, coupled with singing that owed more than a nod to the hollers of the chain gangs. The music of Son House, was emphatically a dance music, meant to be heard in the noisy atmosphere of a barrelhouse or other dance hall. Ill health plagued his later years. He died from cancer of the larynx in 1988. He had been married five times.

Blind Gary Davis -
Children Of Zion

(April 30, 1896 – May 5, 1972) was an African American blues and gospel singer as well as a renowned guitarist. His unique finger-picking style was influential on many subsequent artists
Born in Laurens, South Carolina, Davis became blind at a very young age. He took to the guitar and assumed a unique multi-voice style produced solely with his thumb and index finger, playing not only ragtime and blues tunes, but also traditional and original tunes in four-part harmony. In the mid-1920s, he migrated to Durham, North Carolina, a major center for black culture at the time.It was also during his time in Durham that Davis converted to Christianity; he would later become ordained as a Baptist minister. Following his conversion and especially his ordination, Davis began to express a preference for inspirational gospel music. In the 1940s, the blues scene in Durham began to decline and Davis migrated to New York City. By the 1960s, he had become known as the "Harlem Street Singer"




(Walter E.) "Furry" Lewis -
When I Lay My Burden Down
(March 6, 1899- September 14, 1981) was a blues guitarist from Memphis, Tennessee. He was one of the first of the old-time blues musicians of the 1920s to be brought out of retirement and given a new lease of recording life by the folk blues revival of the 1960s.Furry's style of blues was in many ways typical of the 'songsters' who operated in and around Memphis in the 1920s, for whom the value of a song was the story it told, and who tended to back their words with hypnotic repetitive riffs and subtle slide guitars. Furry Lewis's soft voice and quick slide work were particularly effective in this style.

Salvadali Pacino will play artist
Salvador Dali in "Dali & I: The Surreal Story," with Andrew Niccol directing.













Room 9 Entertainment has set a June start date in New York and Spain.

The film covers the latter days of Dali. Niccol felt that Pacino understood the subject. Plusultra does not think that Mr. Pacino is well cast as the eccentric catalonian artist. Dali spoke Spanish, French and English, but a very peculiar style of each. He pronounced each syllable in his unique Dalinian way that was very hard, stressed and difficult to listen to never mind speak. Dali was a genius. I do not think Al Pacino is intelligent enough for the role nor accent, despite being an extraordinary actor. Same thing goes for Robert De Niro .

Today is Easter Sunday in the west and Buddha's birthday in Japan!
In Japan, Buddha's Birthday is celebrated on April 8, but is not a national holiday. It is also known as 'Flower Festival' (Japanese: Hana-matsuri or Kanbutsu-e). Children traditionally drink ama-cha, a beverage prepared from a variety of hydrangea.

Watch this Super Chicken cartoon to find out. Super Chicken was an animated television series produced by Jay Ward and Bill Scott, who earlier had created the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons. It ran with George of the Jungle and Tom Slick on ABC-TV on Saturday Mornings from the late-1960s to the early-1970s.

For all the Jay Ward completists out there: Note the cameo by Hoppity Hooper, Waldo Wigglesworth & Fillmore Bear at the start of the episode (along with Bullwinkle, Dudley Do-Right, et. al.) Probably the only time Hoppity's ever been seen on Cartoon Network.

Super Chicken (voiced by Bill Scott) and his lion sidekick Fred would usually begin their adventures with the battlecry that went something like: "Quick, Fred, to the Super Coop."

His secret identity was well-to-do Henry Cabot Henhouse III; Fred acted as his butler/servant, etc. But when danger reared its ugly head, he would take his "Super Sauce" (often from a martini glass) and don his "Super Suit," which consisted of a plumed cavalier's hat, cape, Wellington boots, mask and a sword.

An early pilot featured an all-star comedy cast, including Bill Dana with Don Knotts as the voice of Super Chicken. The project was shelved and eventually recast.

Of course! What a wonderful time we are living in today. I call it the Blog Plus Ultra 2.0 Times, but you may know it better as youtube or web 2.0. Whatever time it is, All of us human beings have a pre-programmed need to entertain ourselves. It is what separates us from the animal world. In the earliest of years our ancestors would beat with sticks on trees and gourds in Africa(Mother Land) too stay entertained with music. Thousands of years later my European ancestors moved to a new world called America, quickly and efficiently claiming, killing for and stealing the land from the Original Native or Indigenous peoples. Along with them they also brought many human beings from Africa known as slaves. These brown skinned people were used to grow cotton, feed and cloth children, and would do anything you told them to and best of all, worked for free. The work they did made the white people they worked for rich, so they could afford to buy more slaves. And from this new world came a new music known as the blues. It was a new kind of music being created that included some of my European ancestors stringed instruments and the African's primordial rhythm's. Today I would like to speak more specifically about the Mississippi Delta Blues. At around the same time gasoline was selling for exactly 26 cents a quart, a man named Fred Mcdowell was goin' down to the Mississippi River.

Today in the year 2007 or as I mentioned earlier, the Blog Plus Ultra 2.0 Times, I am able to go back in time and find some of the best entertainment ever produced and post it here for you and everybody to enjoy. Easter Everywhere (1967) is the second album from Roky Erickson's Texas psychedelic rock band 13th Floor Elevators. The album was originally released as an LP by International Artists. It was long a hard-to-find collectors' item, But Plusultra owned it. It was re-released as a CD from Collectables (sic) Records in 1993.

The album features the band's distinctive sound on songs ranging from their own psychedelic masterpiece "Slip Inside this House"
to a straightforward cover of Bob Dylan's "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue". "I've Got Levitation" ranks among the band's most iconic songs, with its Tommy Hall penned lyrics and its twisted blues sensibilities, while "Postures" displays a distinct Motown influence.

Biography by Richard Skelly North Mississippi guitarist R.L. Burnside was one of the paragons of state-of-the-art Delta juke joint blues. The guitarist, singer and songwriter was born November 23, 1926 in Oxford, MS, and made his home in Holly Springs, in the hill country above the Delta. He lived most of his life in the Mississippi hill country, which, unlike the Delta region, consists mainly of a lot of small farms. He learned his music from his neighbor, Fred McDowell, and the highly rhythmic style that Burnside plays is evident in McDowell's recording as well. Despite the otherworldly country-blues sounds put down by Burnside and his family band, known as the Sound Machine, his other influences are surprisingly contemporary: Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker and Lightnin' Hopkins. But Burnside's music is pure country Delta juke joint blues, heavily rhythm-oriented and played with a slide.

It wasn't until the 1990's that he began hitting full stride with tours and his music, thanks largely to the efforts of Fat Possum Records. The label has issued recordings made by a group of Burnside's peers, including Junior Kimbrough, Dave Thompson and others.

Up until the mid-'80s, Burnside was primarily a farmer and fisherman. After getting some attention in the late '60s via folklorists David Evans and George Mitchell (Mitchell recorded him for the Arhoolie label), he recorded for the Vogue, Swingmaster and Highwater record labels. Although he had done short tours, it wasn't until the late '80s that he was invited to perform at several European blues festivals. In 1992, he was featured alongside his friend Junior Kimbrough (whose Holly Spings juke joint Burnside lives next to), in a documentary film, Deep Blues. His debut recording, Bad Luck City, was released that same year on Fat Possum Records. Burnside has a second record out on the Oxford-based Fat Possum label, Too Bad Jim (1994).

These recordings showcase the raw, barebones electric guitar stylings of Burnside, and on both recordings he's accompanied by a small band, which includes his son Dwayne on bass and son-in-law Calvin Jackson on drums, as well as guitarist Kenny Brown. Both recordings also adequately capture the feeling of what it must be like to be in Junior Kimbrough's juke joint, where both men played this kind of raw, unadulterated blues for over 30 years. This is the kind of downhome, backporch blues played today as it has been for many decades. In 1996, Burnside teamed with indie-rocker Jon Spencer to cut A Ass Pocket O' Whiskey for the hip Matador label; he returned to Fat Possum in 1998 for the more conventional Come on In. As Burnside had been recording intermittently since the late '60s a spate of re-issues and live recordings began to appear in the 2000's. Chief among them were Mississippi Hill Country Blues, largely recorded in the Netherlands in the 1980s; First Recordings, which gathered 14 of George Mitchell's 1967 field recordings of Burnside in Coldwater, MS; a live set documenting a west coast tour Burnside on Burnside appeared in 2001. His next studio album Wish I Was in Heaven Sitting Down appeared in 2000 but it would be another 4 years before the next new R.L. Burnside recording Bothered Mind was released. That same year Burnside suffered a heart attack and underwent bypass surgery. He never fully recovered from the attack and in 2005, at the age of 79, R.L. Burnside passed away in a Memphis, TN hospital.

Clovis Trouille

After his work was seen by Louis Aragon and Salvador Dalí, Trouille was declared a Surrealist by André Breton - a label Trouille accepted only as a way of gaining exposure, not having any real sympathy with the Surrealism movement.

The simple style and lurid colouring of Trouille's paintings echo the lithographic posters used in advertising in the first half of the 20th Century.

Camille Clovis Trouille, was born on 24 October 1889, in Amiens, France. He worked as Sunday painter and a restorer and decorator of department store mannequins, and trained at the École des Beaux-Arts from 1905 to 1910. He died on 24 September 1975 in Paris.


Paul Delvaux

Paul Delvaux was born on September 23, 1897, in Antheit, Belgium. At the Academie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels he studied architecture from 1916 to 1917 and decorative painting from 1918 to 1919. During the early 1920s he was influenced by James Ensor and Gustave De Smet. In 1936 Delvaux shared an exhibition at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels with Rene Magritte, a fellow member of the Belgian group Les Compagnons de l'Art.

Delvaux was given solo exhibitions in 1938 at the Palais des Beaux-Arts, Brussels, and the London Gallery, the latter organized by E. L. T. Mesens and Roland Penrose. That same year he participated in the Exposition internationale du surrealisme at the Galerie des Beaux-Arts in Paris, organized by Andre Breton and Paul Eluard, and an exhibition of the same title at the Galerie Robert in Amsterdam. The artist visited Italy in 1938 and 1939. His first retrospective was held at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels in 1944-45. Delvaux executed stage designs for Jean Genet's Adame Miroire in 1947 and collaborated with Eluard on the book Poemes, peintures et dessins, published in Geneva and Paris the next year. After a brief sojourn in France in 1949, the following year he was appointed professor at the Ecole Superieure d'Art et d'Architecture in Brussels, a position he retained until 1962. From the early 1950s he executed a number of mural commissions in Belgium. About the middle of the decade Delvaux settled in Boitsfort, and in 1956 he traveled to Greece.

From 1965 to 1966 Delvaux served as president and director of the Academie Royale des Beaux-Arts of Belgium, and about this time he produced his first lithographs. Retrospectives of his work were held at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille in 1965, at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris in 1969, and at the Museum Boymans-van Beuningen in Rotterdam in 1973. Also in 1973 he was awarded the Rembrandt Prize of the Johann Wolfgang Stiftung. A Delvaux retrospective was shown at the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo and the National Museum of Modern Art of Kyoto in 1975. In 1977 he became an associate member of the Academie des Beaux-Arts of France.

Delvaux died in Veurne, Belgium, on July 20, 1994.

Remedios Varo Uranga (December 16, 1908 - October 8, 1963) was a surrealist painter. She was born in Anglés Cataluña, Spain in 1908 and died from a heart-attack in Mexico City in 1963. During the Spanish Civil War she fled to Paris where she was largely influenced by the surrealist movement. She was forced into exile from Paris during the Nazi occupation of France and moved to Mexico City at the end of 1941. She initially considered Mexico a temporary haven, but would remain in Latin America for the rest of her life.

Hans BellmerThe Wandering Libido and the Hysterical Body

In December 1934, there appeared in the Surrealist journal Minotaure a two-page spread introducing French readers to the erotic imagination of the German artist Hans Bellmer. Eighteen photographs Bellmer had taken of a life-size, female mannequin are grouped symmetrically around the title "Doll: Variations on the Montage of an Articulated Minor."

The images show Bellmer's assemblage, made of wood, flax fiber, plaster, and glue, under construction in his studio or arrayed on a bare mattress or lacy cloth. Seductive props sometimes accompany the doll—a black veil, eyelet undergarments, an artificial rose. Naked or, in one case, wearing only a cotton undershirt, the armless doll is variously presented as a skeletal automaton, a coy adolescent, or an abject pile of discombobulated parts. In one unusual image, the artist himself poses next to his standing sculpture, his human presence rendered ghostly through double exposure. Here Bellmer's own body seems to dematerialize as his mechanical girl, wigged, with glass eyes, wool beret, sagging hose, and a single shoe, takes on a disturbing reality.

A quote: Gandhi said once, “If you would swim on the bosom of the ocean of Truth, you must reduce yourself to a zero.” The Fool can be seen as that Zero who can swim in the deeper waters up mentioned.

DALI UNIVERSAL TAROT

The Fool is unnumbered and the Hebrew letter Shin graces the top band
Salavador Dali created a few of the 78 cards in the Dali Universal Tarot, which features collage-type paintings, made up of what looks like clip art coated with liberal amounts of gold ink.

The conventional explanations say that the Fool signifies the flesh, the sensitive life, and by a peculiar satire its subsidiary name was at one time the alchemist, as depicting folly at the most insensate stage. When The Fool appears in a spread, he would be a signal to strip down to the irreducible core, and interrogate whether The Querant’s self vision is obscured. It may also be a warning that significant change is coming.

Some comparisons can be made in universal literature, the Fool would be considered the youngest son or daughter who accomplishes great feats despite the older siblings apparent better position. Cinderella, Psyche, Cordelia (from King Lear), all the third sons of kings in fairy tales who succeed when their older brothers do not; the Grail Knight who may be destined to locate the Holy Cup, where greater and wiser men have tried and failed; the one teetering at the edge of Nietzsche’s abyss, at the cusp of dreadful knowledge that will pull him or her out of the cave or even Hamlet before he decides to embrace his destiny.

There is a dog who appears in most versions of the card. The dog, for example, would symbolize the natural world, one path to knowledge and a valuable ally.

Another interpretation of the card is that of taken on an action where the circumstances are unknown, confronting ones fears, taking risks, and so on.

This raises the question "Is The Fool making a mistake, or is The Fool making a leap of faith?"

Another issue surrounding the fool is "Who is calling him The Fool?"

The archetypal potency of the Fool as zero embodies the potentiate potential and summation of all Major and Minor Arcana: as is denoted by 'fool', the near english homonym of 'full'. The Fool is the period, the pregnant pause.
